Q. Will SafeNZ's filtering systems catch all offensive material? A. No, it is estimated SafeNZ's unique multi layer intelligent filtering system will catch well over 99% of this material, but it is not possible for it to be perfect using technology alone. Parents should still employ "safe" Internet practices such as installing computers in a family area. More advice on this is available here.
Q. Are chat programs like MSN and ICQ able to be used on SafeNZ? A. Yes, however Chat meeting rooms are blocked. This means that users can talk to people that they know, but children cannot fall prey to people who use chat rooms to prey upon them (chat rooms are often used by pedophiles to make first contact with likely victims).
Q. If I find a site that is blocked that I believe shouldn't be, can I have it unblocked? A. Yes, If you recieve a blocked page message there will be a link on it to click on to request unblocking.
